Due to inclement weather, St. Francis Cathedral School will be closed on Monday, February 23.

✨Mrs. Sheila Vargas-Makrinos came to visit the PreSchool’s “South American Rainforest 💦Hallway” today. She met with Mrs. Teller and Mrs. Magee’s PreK 3 and 4 year old classrooms to answer all their questions about🇧🇷Brazil. She taught our students some🇵🇹Portuguese words and brought them some🥥coconut truffles to taste. It was a wonderful look at a different part of the world for them!😃 #SFCS





✨Congratulations to 7th grader, Carl T. who won the SFCS School Spelling Bee yesterday afternoon! He will represent our school in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on March 14th for a chance to go to Nationals. Way to go spelling star!🌟#SFCS



✨Our Kindergartners have been busy preparing for Lent. Yesterday, Sister Jo’s class celebrated “Fat Tuesday” with a Mardi Gras. Today, both classes received their Ash Wednesday ashes from Deacon Rick.☦️ #SFCS










⛪️This Ash Wednesday morning, our students attended holy Mass and received their ashes. We came together as a school community to begin our forty day Lenten season of prayer, fasting and repentance.✝️ #SFCS

🔥The Olympic Spirit is alive in Mrs. Burke’s 3rd grade class as students participated in their own opening ceremony and individual events this week. Team events commence next week.🥇🥈🥉#SFCS






💕It was Valentine’s Day math in Mrs. Masset’s 2nd grade class today. They sorted conversation hearts by color and then used the information to make a bar 📊graph. They wrote math graph questions and tried to see who could make the tallest tower out candy of hearts. It was way harder than it looks!🤣 #SFCS










❣️Our 5th graders visited their PreK buddies today. They had a great time making Valentine’s Day 💌cards together!😊 #SFCS









✨KB had a great 💯day of school today! They wore special shirts commemorating the important day. They danced, read, counted to 100 and worked on their 100 dot paint gumball machines. They enjoyed their special treats and spending it with Sister Jo!🥰 #SFCS










✨Today KA had so much fun today celebrating the 100th day of school! They made a fruit loop necklace with a 💯 fruit loops, did a dot art project of 100 circles⭕️to make a gumball machine, listened to stories about the 100th day of school and counted to 100 by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. The students danced to 100 songs and enjoyed the piñata and treats. It was a fun day in K!😃#SFCS










💕Today Mrs. Johnson’s Kindergarten class read a Valentine’s 💌Day story called, “The Day it Rained Hearts”. After they read the story, the children had to draw what they would want it to rain and share it with their classmates. Some of the students got creative with their ideas of ✝️crosses, 🍦ice cream cones, 🏰Minnie ears and 💵money. #SFCS

💕Sister Josephine’s Kindergarten class has been busy getting ready for Valentine’s 💌 Day. They have been tapping into their creative sides to make some beautiful projects.❤️ #SFCS






✨Mrs. Farrell’s 6th grade homeroom has been enjoying indoor recess playing Boggle and♟️chess. Everyone is hoping for warmer weather so they can back to outdoor recess in our school yard.😃 #SFCS
