On Friday, September 26, 2025, St. Francis Cathedral School held its inaugural Color Run, an exciting new community event that combined school spirit, healthy activity, and plenty of fun. The evening brought together students, families, teachers, and parish members in a celebration that will surely become a cherished tradition.
The Color Run, hosted by the Home School Association (HSA), was the creative idea of the HSA Fundraising Team Christine Tobin and Jen Pitoscia, who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life. Their vision, along with the support of countless volunteers, turned the church parking lot into a festival of color, music, and joy.
The event officially began at 5:30 p.m. with a special moment: the top student fundraisers had the honor of tossing the first handfuls of color at the teachers, much to the delight of the crowd. Laughter, cheers, and plenty of bright colors set the tone for the evening. Immediately afterward, the main race kicked off, and the energy was electric.
With upbeat music filling the air and spectators cheering from every corner, 160 students, who had pre-registered for the event, ran multiple laps around the course mapped through the church parking lot. But in this race, speed didn’t matter—fun did! Parents, teachers, and volunteers were stationed along the way with cups of vibrant color powder, making sure every participant was fully immersed in the colorful experience. By the end, no runner or spectator was left untouched by color.
The Color Run was more than just a race; it was a party atmosphere where families mingled, classmates celebrated together, and the entire school community shared in the excitement. The joy on the students’ faces and the laughter echoing across the lot were proof that the event was about more than running—it was about connection, celebration, and school pride.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made this incredible evening possible: the organizers, the volunteers who helped with setup, those who worked tirelessly during the event, and the many who stayed late to clean up. Your dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm created a night that our students will never forget.
The first-ever Color Run at St. Francis Cathedral School was a resounding success and with such strong support from the community, it may just be the beginning of a new annual tradition.
