For the first time in the school’s history, St. Francis Cathedral School hosted a school-wide spelling bee as part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition. Eleven 4th through 8th graders volunteered to compete in the bee. The spelling bee was held on Wednesday, February 18th in the Cathedral Community Room.
The competition was close, but 7th grader Carl T. emerged as the school champion! Carl is eligible to go on to the Middlesex County Regional Spelling Bee on March 14th. If he wins the tournament, he will advance toward the Scripps National Spelling Bee, aprestigious spelling competition held annually in Washington, D.C.
