π¦Mrs. Burkeβs third graders used Thanksgiving Eve to recreate βLiberty Treesβ like the colonists. They learned about how the balloons are created for the Macyβs Parade and put on a βTurkey Puppet Showβ. Special thanks go out to their Student Council Representative, Brandon for all his hard work so far this school year.π #SFCS

πOur 8th graders and 3rd graders from the Helping Hands Club delivered items collected from the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to the Pastoral Center this afternoon. Bidgie Williamson, Director of Social Concerns, was so happy to replenish the food pantry. Principal Dalton took time out of her busy day to assist in this great cause. Special thanks to all of the families that donated this year. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!π¦ #SFCS

π«Today our 3rd grade classes visited the The Old Franklin School House. It was the first school built in Metuchen in 1807. The Borough Improvement League purchased it in 1901 and it is now used as a community center. The students had fun on their trip off campus and learning more about the history of Metuchen.π #SFCS

β€οΈYesterday for βWorld Kindness Dayβ, Mrs. Johnsonβs Kindergarten class learned all about ways to be kind. They listened to the story, βA Wrinkled Heartβ that highlights unkind words wrinkles peopleβs hearts. The students performed an experiment where they wrinkled a paper heart and then, tried to get it back to its original shape. They saw that they could never get their paper hearts back exactly the way they started. They truly grasped the importance of choosing their words to promote a culture of kindness.π₯° #SFCS

1) βWe must pray without tiring, for the salvation of mankind does not depend upon material successβ¦but on Jesus alone.β

β¨SFCS received a generous donation of $48,750 from the Msgr. Richard A. Behl Endowment Fund for technology and curriculum updates. Chairperson, Patricia Bixel presented the check in front of the school's donor wall to Principal Katheen Dalton, President Dr. Jay Locquiao and Very Reverend Fr. Timothy A. Christy, Rector of the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi. The Behl Fund is a permanent endowment established in 2008 to enhance the school's curriculum in the areas of religion, science, technology, mathematics, language and fine arts. We would like to thank all our donors for their steadfast commitment to Catholic education!π #SFCS
