👩🏼‍⚕️Today Fr. Christy blessed our newly renovated nurse’s office. Together with our school nurse, Katrina, we acknowledged and thanked the families of Kathleen Freis (mother of our Art 🎨Teacher, Patti Ackerson), Patricia LaPointe and Carol Trecolis who served as the school nurse for our students for over thirty years.🌟Dr. Locquiao and our Student Council Executive Board presented the family members with a beautiful statue as a token of appreciation for their service to SFCS.🥰 #SFCS

🦃Mrs. Burke’s third graders used Thanksgiving Eve to recreate “Liberty Trees” like the colonists. They learned about how the balloons are created for the Macy’s Parade and put on a “Turkey Puppet Show”. Special thanks go out to their Student Council Representative, Brandon for all his hard work so far this school year.😃 #SFCS

🌟Our 8th graders and 3rd graders from the Helping Hands Club delivered items collected from the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to the Pastoral Center this afternoon. Bidgie Williamson, Director of Social Concerns, was so happy to replenish the food pantry. Principal Dalton took time out of her busy day to assist in this great cause. Special thanks to all of the families that donated this year. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!🦃 #SFCS

🏫Today our 3rd grade classes visited the The Old Franklin School House. It was the first school built in Metuchen in 1807. The Borough Improvement League purchased it in 1901 and it is now used as a community center. The students had fun on their trip off campus and learning more about the history of Metuchen.😃 #SFCS

🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️Students in 8A and 2A had a combined Physical Education class yesterday. They participated together doing Mrs. Roberts “burpees”, “punches” and pushups. At the end of the class period, they played soccer. The students had a great time together in the CYO.⚽️ #SFCS

❤️Yesterday for “World Kindness Day”, Mrs. Johnson’s Kindergarten class learned all about ways to be kind. They listened to the story, “A Wrinkled Heart” that highlights unkind words wrinkles people’s hearts. The students performed an experiment where they wrinkled a paper heart and then, tried to get it back to its original shape. They saw that they could never get their paper hearts back exactly the way they started. They truly grasped the importance of choosing their words to promote a culture of kindness.🥰 #SFCS

🦃The Helping Hands Club “Thanksgiving Food Drive” to benefit St. Francis Cathedral Social Concerns is well underway. Students have been busy creating boxes to collect donations for each classroom. The club members visited the Food Pantry to learn about the many ways Social Concerns helps those in need. Donations are being collected until November 20th.😃 #SFCS

🦷Dr. Harleen Sodhi, DDS visited our Kindergarten and First Grade classes yesterday from Metuchen Pediatric Dentistry to talk to the students about the importance good dental 🪥hygiene. She talked about keeping our teeth clean and making healthy food and beverage choices. The students had a great time brushing her dinosaur’s 🦖 teeth as well! #SFCS
