✨Students in Ms. Teller’s PreK class had a wonderful time making cookies!🍪They were so excited to measure and mix all of the ingredients. The finished product was very yummy and enjoyed by all!😋#SFCS

🖍️Last week, our Kindergartners learned all about Martin Luther King, what he did and why he was a hero. Together they read the story, “The Crayon Box”. The story is about a box of crayons that didn’t like each other because they were different colors. After learning to value each other’s unique qualities, the crayons in the box began to appreciate each other as they used their different colors to create a beautiful picture together.🎨👨🏽🎨🧑🏻🎨#SFCS

👏🏻Congratulations to the winners of the "American🇺🇸Legion Coloring Contest"! Carson K., Nicole P., and Alena S. received their certificates, flags and prize money from Principal Dalton this afternoon. Carson’s first place masterpiece will be sent on to the state level competition. Way to go, SFCS stars!🌟Special thanks go out to Commander Walter Zjawin for presenting the awards to our school today.

🏗️In science class, Mrs. Masset’s 2nd graders learned about the properties of a successful tower. As engineers, the students were tasked with building a tower at least 45cm tall and stable enough to not blow over in the wind. The children came up with creative solutions for this scientific prompt.😃 #SFCS

🦺Our first grade classes attended a special safety presentation from St. Joseph’s High School students this week. Two of them were our very own SFCS alumni from the class of 2022.🥰The program centered around pedestrian safety. The children were reminded how to cross the street safely, what type of clothing helps drivers see them better and to always observe traffic signals. We look forward to their next visit to our school in February.🌟#SFCS

🧲In Mrs. Weigele’s 4th grade science classes, students are investigating magnetism. The hands-on exploration tested twelve different types of items to see which of them were magnetic. The students worked hard to test their hypotheses and record their findings.📝 #SFCS

✨Our PreK students enjoyed some fresh air this morning when they placed food around campus for our wildlife to enjoy. The children learned about the different types of tracks that squirrel and deer leave behind. Our youngest students are so full of wonder and joy!🐿️🦌 #SFCS

✨On Friday, our Middle School Advisory groups met with Dr. Macaluso. She delivered an engaging presentation called, “ The Power of Food”. She explored the important role nutrition plays in supporting our students’ physical health, energy, focus, and overall well-being. The children learned how to read food labels to gain a better understanding on how to make informed food choices. They learned how small, healthy habits can make a positive impact in their lives. Our 6th, 7th and 8th graders came away with great strategies to make healthy choices!🍎#SFCS
